We love the sunkissed, beach waves, freckled look and that’s why we head to the beach. If you’re going to the beach, your normal beauty regimen will not work. As soon as you get to the beach, the sand, salt water, air, and sun will change everything. Keep reading to know how we can still look our best while soaking up the sun and embracing that beachy look.
Haircare
We want those tousled, sandy waves in our hair, but that doesn’t always look as fabulous as we thought it would. Sometimes when it’s 90 degrees out, we don’t want anything touching our face, not even our own hair. So here are some solutions:
- Rock the top knot, throw your hair up in a high bun. The top knot gets rid of flyaways and frizz while keeping you as cool as possible.
- Another option, throw on a headband or headwrap to pull your hair back while still looking chic.
- Braids, braids, braids. You can never go wrong with braids and they’re the perfect way to pull everything back and keep it all controlled.
Makeup
Our skin is glowing, freckled, and maybe a little blotchy from sunburn. When at the beach, most people don’t want to wear a full face of makeup. So here’s how you can still look and feel your best with minimal makeup. The first thing your face will need is a tinted moisturizer with SPF in it. A tinted moisturizer evens out your complexion and hides any blemishes. If you feel the need to wear any other makeup like mascara, blush, or eyebrow pencil, make sure to use a setting spray to avoid a sweaty, greasy mess on your face.
And yes, don’t forget to bring makeup remover or blotting wipes for instant skin soothing and cooling.
Skincare
When you’re laying out under the sun in 90 degree weather, you’re going to sweat. A quick tip is to apply antiperspirant before bed. That way your skin has time to absorb it. You can then reapply in the morning before heading to the beach. Lastly, don’t forget to apply sunscreen evenly to avoid streaks and blotches.
